Nationwide Arena Operators Report Small Profit For Latest Fiscal Year

WCBE files

The panel managing Nationwide Arena said this week it will close the fiscal year June 30th with a nearly 109 thousand dollar profit.

Columbus Area Management says some of the money will be used to replace two devices used to cool the arena. Rainy day funds will be used to make up the rest of the 1.2 million dollar replacement cost. Franklin County Convention Facilities Authority Director Don Brown says the profits came from a good year in ticket sales and other revenue sources. Also boosting the figures are revenues from the casino tax. Brown says the group continues working to find a permanent revenue stream for capital improvements. The group is paying off a state loan but has not made any payments on a loan from from Nationwide Realty Investors.
