Ohio's unemployment rate for September is 4.6 percent, unchanged from August.
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services says today non-farm payrolls increased by 43 hundred in September to a revised 5.6 million. Ohio had 266 thousand jobless workers last month, down by 2 thousand from August. Ohio gained jobs in sectors including manufacturing, professional and business services, and trade, transportation, and utilities. Ohio lost jobs in the construction and leisure and hospitalilty sectors. The U.S. unemployment rate for September is 3.7 percent.
