Bond Set For Man Charged With Impersonating Cop During Attempted Kidnappings

Fairfield County Sheriff's Office

A Franklin County judge has set bond at 250 thousand dollars for the man accused of impersonating a police officer and attempting to abduct a woman twice last week.

Columbus Police say 35-year-old Randall Tharp tried to kidnap a woman on Thursday while she was out walking, and again on Friday outside of her home. Police say Tharp was wearing a police hat,  gun and security vest when he twice ordered the woman into his car. She fled both times. The registered sex offender is due back in court on November 13.
