Representative Clyde To Become Portage County Commissioner

Ohio Public Radio

Democrat Kathleen Clyde has resigned her Ohio House seat to take a seat on the Portage County commission.

The term-limited Clyde lost a bid for Ohio secretary of state in November.  Her resignation came last Thursday, the same day the Portage County Democratic party's central committee named her to the vacancy.  She replaces Democrat Mike Kerrigan, who suddenly resigned four weeks after winning a two-year term in November. Kerrigan was appointed in December 2017 after a commissioner's death.
