The Ohio Secretary of State's office has announced new signature requirements for statewide ballot issues.

The numbers of signatures now required for constitutional amendments are based on 10 percent of total votes cast for the 2018 gubernatorial election. A referendum will require  six percent of total votes cast. A proposal for a new law will require three percent of votes cast. Committees must follow the new requirements through the 2022 gubernatorial election.
