Franklin County Sheriff's deputies have cited former NFL and Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith for possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a vehicle under the influence. Deputies say the 33-year-old was asked to move his car to a diversion area at a Columbus checkpoint Friday after they detected a marijuana odor. Deputies say Smith refused to take field sobriety tests. Smith was issued a summons to appear in court. Smith was charged with drug and alcohol violations following a stop in Westerville last year.
