Columbus' new Arena Football League team has an old name.
The Columbus Destroyers will begin play later this year, with home games at Nationwide Arena. The team Friday announced former AFL player and coach Matthew Sauk will be the head coach. Two previous AFL franchises in Columbus failed. The Thunderbolts played in 1991 and the Destroyers played from 2004 to 2008. The team and the league say interest among locals for a new AFL franchise is strong.
