City Offering Ticket Tax Grace Period

The City of Columbus says those who purchase tickets for entertainment before July 1st will not have to pay the new ticket tax.

The city is offering a one-time grace period for the five-percent fee, even if the payment plan extends beyond that date. The city says it would be unfair to collect the tax before the policy is in place. Anti-tax advocates claim the grace period punishes those who can't afford to purchase season ticket packages.
