Columbus police have released body camera footage of an officer punching a man during an altercation last Friday.
Cellphone video of the incident went viral. In the 49-minute long footage, police responding to a call of shots fired near Stanley Avenue ask crowds to step back when Officer A.J. Johnson exchanges words with a man and then punches him. Police say Johnson was protecting bystanders. An investigation continues.
