Negotiators for the Columbus City Schools and the union representing teachers met for more than 11 hours Monday, but failed to produce a new contract agreeement.
Teachers represented by the Columbus Education Association have threatened a strike this fall if a new deal is not reached. Talks are now on hold until July 15, which is a contract-mandated 45-day "cooling off" period. Both sides say progress was made on Monday. The current deal expires on August 18.
