Columbus will open five community rec centers this weekend to help residents cool off from the excessive heat.

Officials say the Barnett, Beatty, Marion Franklin, Westgate and Whetstone centers will be open to the public from 9am to 9pm Saturday and Sunday. The city's outdoor pools will also be open this weekend with a one-dollar-per-person charge. The city’s spraygrounds remain free and open during regular hours through the weekend.
