Columbus Mayor Andy Ginther says new strategies have helped police make improvements in neighborhood safety.
Ginther says officers on bicycles patrolling in Linden, the Hilltop, and the south side during warmer months reduced violent crime. City data shows violent crime dropped by 28 percent in Linden, by 18 percent on the Hilltop and by 16 percent on the south side.
