A man is hospitalized in critical condition after he was shot by Columbus police.
Investigators say 36-year-old Kenneth Chandler unsuccessfully tried to rob a Cleveland Avenue restaurant at gunpoint Friday morning, before attempting to carjack an employee in a city vehicle. Officers eventually caught up with the armed suspect and opened fire. No one else was hurt. Formal charges are pending.
