Coronavirus Prompts Athens Schools To Cancel Classes, Dublin To Cancel Two Events This Week

The Athens City Schools are closing for two weeks due to coronavirus concerns.

The closures run March 16 through the 30th. The schools says some student families connected to Ohio University traveled over the spring break and may have become exposed. Staffers will stay on the job. Meanwhile, the City of Dublin has canceled the St. Patrick’s Day parade and postponed the opening of the Link Bridge due to coronavirus concerns. The announcement comes after Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced recommendations to help prevent the spread of the virus. The bridge will open at a date that has yet to be determined.
