Thirty five independent gyms across the state have joined together in filing a lawsuit against the Ohio Health Department asking for the reopening of fitness centers.
The lawsuit says the state's updated Stay Safe order provides a path to open many industries, but disregards the capability of gyms to operate safely. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine responded to a question about the lawsuit at today's briefing.
The gyms filed the complaint with assistance from the Columbus-based 1851 Center for Constitutional Law. It's pending in the Lake County Court of Common Pleas.
