An Ohio prisoner who confessed to killing a fellow inmate in a letter has been convicted and sentenced to death.
The verdict in the case of Joel Drain will automatically be appealed to the Ohio Supreme Court. He waived his right to a jury trial and pleaded no contest to the April 2019 slaying of 29-year-old Christopher Richardson at the Warren Correctional Institution.
