The Franklin County Coroner's Office is reporting a spike in drug overdose deaths.

Officials say there have been 191 fatalities in the first quarter of the year, up more than 55 percent from the same period in 2019.  Seventy percent of those who died tested positive for fentanyl. A significant number of deaths attributed to cocaine or methamphetamines also showed traces of fentanyl.
