State health officials Wednesday reported 1,419 new cases of COVID-19 and 40 new deaths.
The state now has 88,767 cases and 3,422 deaths. And Ohio hospitals are seeing their highest number of COVID-19 patients since the pandemic began. The Ohio Department of Health said Wednesday 1,122 people were hospitalized as of Tuesday. The total tops the previous high in late April. Ohio health director Lance Himes says those who are testing positive are increasingly younger, showing the need to keep wearing masks and practicing social distancing.
