SHUTTERSTOCK.COM

Ohio's unemployment rate was 8.4 percent in September, down one-tenth of a point from August.

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services says 472,000 people were jobless in September, down 38,000 from August.

Non-farm payrolls rose last month by more than 41 thousand to a revised total of nearly 5.2 million.

Ohio gained jobs in the manufacturing, construction, and leisure and hospitality sectors.
