Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene To Attend Columbus "Back The Blue Rally"

A controversial conservative lawmaker from Georgia has announced she will attend a rally at the Ohio Statehouse Saturday, in support of a Columbus cop who shot and killed a teen girl last week.

Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene tweeted her support for Officer Nicholas Reardon, who shot 16-year-old Ma'Khia Bryant last week as she appeared poised to strike another woman with a knife.

The shooting sparked protests and calls for police accountability from civic and elected leaders. Reardon has been taken off the street and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is conducting an inquiry.

According to the promotional material from organizer Ohio Gun Owners, Republicans Rep. Ron Hood and Senate candidate Josh Mandel will also speak at the event, which will take place in a fenced off area on the Statehouse West Lawn. Reservations will be required.

A native of Chicago, naturalized citizen of Cincinnati and resident of Columbus, Alison attended Earlham College and the Ohio State University. She has equal passion for Midwest history, hockey and Slavic poetry.
