Mike received his degree in business finance form the Ohio State University in the mid 1980's. Since graduation he's made a living from playing, mixing, mastering, and producing music, and joined the WCBE family in 2002.

Paste Magazine just named her one of "Ten Artists To Watch In 2020".

Based in Baltimore, her latest release "Circadian", just came out in February.

Working with veteran producer Neilson Hubbard, she also recieved help from Will Kimbrough on Guitar and Mandolin for her latest effort.

She's currently on tour, but does not have a Columbus show scheduled at this time.

She will, however, play live right here in studio A.

EmiSunshine is back in Ohio to play a show at Marathon Center For The Performing Arts in Findlay Ohio the evening of March 5th.

She will also play at Ludlow Garage in Cincinnati on Friday March 27.

Her latest release, "Family Wars" came out late last year.

It's been a few years since The Grahams last visited studio A.

This time it's going to be a radio only visit.

They're getting ready to release, "Kids Like Us" on March 27th, the same day they embark on a string of shows in England.

The "Cash Only" Johnny Cash tribute concert and WCBE benefit returns to Woodlands Backyard on February 28 and 29.

Ian Hummel will play with his band, The Apple Bottom Gang, and Zach Whitney will be on stage with his band, The Zach Whitney Show.

This Columbus based act will be coming out with their new release the same day they visit studio A.

The evening of January 17 they will be at Rumba Cafe, performing at their cd release show.

Also on the bill is the Columbus based act Mungbean.


He will be returning to Studio A before the Dave Buker And The Historians 10th anniversary show at The Shrunken Head, coming up on Saturday January 18.

Also appearing at this show will be The Devil Doves, and Topher James And The Biscuettes, which is a stripped down version of Topher James And The Biscuit Brigade.

This singer-songwriter will be stopping by to play a few songs and talk about what he has been up to since he last played here at WCBE.

He will not be touring the second week of January so it's going to be a radio only visit to Columbus this time around.

Influenced by artists like Bob Dylan and John Prine, his music has found it's way onto television programs like True Blood and The Office.

He's toured with John Mellencamp and John Fogerty during their "Words And Music" tour.

The HawtThorns is the husband-wife duo, K.P. and Johnny Hawthorn, currently touring in support of their debut release "Morning Sun", which came out in August.

They will be performing three nights in Akron at the 11th annual Ryan Humbert Holiday Extravaganza, which will take place on the 10th, 11th and 12th of December .

The Shootouts and Gretchen Pleuss will also be playing at those shows.

This Singer, Songwriter, guitarist and sometimes ukelele player will be playing at Natalie's Coal Fired Pizza In Worthington the evening of December 3rd.

"Out From Under", is her latest release, which came out in November.

She has been playing open mics since the age of 11, formed her first band when she was 12, and recorded  her first release in 2015 when she was 13 years old. 

Now at the age of 18, she will be visiting studio A for the first time.

He's currently touring in support of his latest release, "Caretakers",  which came out in August.

This time out, he's touring with a full band. 

It's been more than three years since he's done that.

His Columbus stop will be at Newport Music Hall the evening of November 14.

Currently touring in support of her third full length release, "Fine But Dying", her Columbus stop will be at The Basement the evening of November 8.

She also has a new single out, "Devotion". That came out in October.

Her last visit to WCBE was on April 23, 2018 during the Global Village.

Glen Phillips, singer/songwriter of the band Toad The Wet Sprocket and other projects, will be performing a show at Columbus Arts Center (Shedd Theater) the evening of October 25.

Before that he will be coming in to studio A to play a few songs, reflect on his solo career and maybe talk about some of those other side projects as well.

Her current tour makes a stop at the Rumba Cafe the evening of October 24.

Rhett Miller from the band Old 97's will also be at that show.

She's touring in support of the 8 song release "Issues", produced by Paul Cauthen, which features The Texas Gentlemen as her backup band.

That came out over the summer.

This New York based singer-songwriter's career was already on the upswing before he won season 8 of The Voice in 2015 at the age of 16.

His music has  appeared on the Netflix  series Longmire, and his song "The Fire" was covered on the TV show Code Black.

He is now touring in support of his self-titled release, which came out on September 27.

This new one features some new material as well as new studio versions of some of his older classics.

He gets help from co-producer Liz Draper on bass, Mikkel Beckmen on percussion, Jeff Mitchell on electric guitar, backing vocals and more, and Dave Hundrieser on harmonica.

This Idaho born singer-songwriter has been named one of the "100 Greatest Living Songwriters" by Paste magazine.

His latest release, "Fever Breaks", which came out in April, features Jason Isbell And The 400 Unit as his backup band.

Jason Isbell also receives production credit for this collaboration.

This Huntington West Virginia based band will be stopping by studio A before their show at Ace Of Cups the evening of September 20.

They're touring in support of the release, "Full Moon, Heavy Light", which came out in May.

This Australian born Singer, songwriter, musician and music producer has worked with Patty Loveless, Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell and Sarah Jarosz to name a few.

He will be in Columbus to open for, and play in Vince Gill's band at the Palace Theatre on Sunday September 15.

The following morning he will stop by studio A to play a few songs, and talk about his release, "West", which came out on August 30.

This German jazz guitarist primarily plays gypsy swing music in the style of Django Reinhardt.

His first release, “Swinging Strings” was named CD of the month by Guitar Player magazine.

Currently touring the USA, he will be performing at The Refectory with Tom Carrol & Doug Richeson on September 10.

He will be coming to WCBE to play live in studio A the following morning.

This Missouri based rock band is in town to play at Rumba Cafe on the 9th of September.

Also appearing at that show is Shonen Knife, who will return to Studio A on September 9 during the Global Village during the 2pm hour.

Currently touring together, both of these bands will play at The Grog Shop in Cleveland Heights the following night.

This Central Ohio based trio has a CD release show coming up at the Rumba Cafe the evening of August 30.

The Rough & Tumble, also playing at this show, have a new release coming out on September 6.

This will be the first ever performance in studio A by Ohyoholos.

His new release is "Truth", and he has one last show in Columbus at The Basement the evening of August 16, before he get's married and moves to Seattle.

Keating will also play at this event, as will The Esteems.

These Central Ohio based musicians will be playing at a WCBE benefit taking place at the Rumba Cafe the evening of August 15.

Also appearing at this event will be Angela Perley, Jesse Henry and Sean Woosley, who will be playing live in studio A during the 1pm hour on August 15.

Jenny, Lou and Todd all play in bands in addition to having their solo careers.

This brother/sister act (Jocelyn on vocals, bass and keys, and Chris on Guitar) will be stopping by WCBE to play live before their show at Woodlands Tavern the evening of August 2nd.

Recent graduates of Harvard, they've performed at festivals like Sundance, Summerfest and SXSW.

"The Fun In The Fight", their latest release,  came out on February 22.

Currently touring with the band Thunderpussy, their Columbus stop will be at The Basement on July 31.

After that, they will be staying in town to play here at WCBE the next morning.

This Kent, Ohio based americana group is going to return to studio A to play before their show at Natalie's Coal Fired Pizza in Worthington the evening of July 12.

Their new release, " Silver Ribbon Dream~Songs And Stories Of The Ohio & Erie Canal", is available for purchase through their website.

It's actually a cd and a 28 page hardcover book. The 10 illustrations in the book visually interpret each of the 10 songs on the cd.

Gretchen Peters is coming to Central Ohio to perform at Natalie's Coal Fired Pizza in Worthington the evening of July 11th.

She also has a show coming up at Riverdog in Wakeman, Ohio the following night.

This two time grammy nominee has also picked up a Country Music Association song of the year award for her song "Independence  Day".


Dawn And Hawkes is Miranda Dawn and Chris Hawkes.

This duo from Austin Texas will be staying in Central Ohio after their show at Natalie's Coal Fired Pizza on June 18 to play in Studio A.

They also have a show coming up at Riverdog near Oberlin Ohio on June 20.

The last time they visited  WCBE  was back in 2014.

"The Other Side" is their latest release.

Over The Rhine is a collaboration between Linford Detweiler and Karin Bergquist.

They will be returning to Studio A to play a few songs and talk about their latest release, "Love & Revelation", which came out in March.

Currently on tour in support of that release, they will be stopping by WCBE between their shows in Lexington Kentucky and Kent Ohio.

It's been several years since they last played here at the station.
