Mike received his degree in business finance form the Ohio State University in the mid 1980's. Since graduation he's made a living from playing, mixing, mastering, and producing music, and joined the WCBE family in 2002.

This Australian born Singer, songwriter, musician and music producer has worked with Patty Loveless, Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell and Sarah Jarosz to name a few.

He will be in Columbus to open for, and play in Vince Gill's band at the Palace Theatre on Sunday September 15.

The following morning he will stop by studio A to play a few songs, and talk about his release, "West", which came out on August 30.

This German jazz guitarist primarily plays gypsy swing music in the style of Django Reinhardt.

His first release, “Swinging Strings” was named CD of the month by Guitar Player magazine.

Currently touring the USA, he will be performing at The Refectory with Tom Carrol & Doug Richeson on September 10.

He will be coming to WCBE to play live in studio A the following morning.

This Missouri based rock band is in town to play at Rumba Cafe on the 9th of September.

Also appearing at that show is Shonen Knife, who will return to Studio A on September 9 during the Global Village during the 2pm hour.

Currently touring together, both of these bands will play at The Grog Shop in Cleveland Heights the following night.

This Central Ohio based trio has a CD release show coming up at the Rumba Cafe the evening of August 30.

The Rough & Tumble, also playing at this show, have a new release coming out on September 6.

This will be the first ever performance in studio A by Ohyoholos.

His new release is "Truth", and he has one last show in Columbus at The Basement the evening of August 16, before he get's married and moves to Seattle.

Keating will also play at this event, as will The Esteems.

These Central Ohio based musicians will be playing at a WCBE benefit taking place at the Rumba Cafe the evening of August 15.

Also appearing at this event will be Angela Perley, Jesse Henry and Sean Woosley, who will be playing live in studio A during the 1pm hour on August 15.

Jenny, Lou and Todd all play in bands in addition to having their solo careers.

His new album, "It Ain't The Same", is scheduled to come out on September 27.

The players on this release include John James Tourville (The Deslondes) on electric guitar and pedal steel, Casey McDonough (NRBQ) on bass, and Alex Hall (JD McPherson, The Cactus Blossoms, Robbie Fulks) on drums, percussion, keys and engineering.


Currently on tour, his Columbus stop will be at Ace Of Cups the evening of August 13.


This brother/sister act (Jocelyn on vocals, bass and keys, and Chris on Guitar) will be stopping by WCBE to play live before their show at Woodlands Tavern the evening of August 2nd.

Recent graduates of Harvard, they've performed at festivals like Sundance, Summerfest and SXSW.

"The Fun In The Fight", their latest release,  came out on February 22.

Currently touring with the band Thunderpussy, their Columbus stop will be at The Basement on July 31.

After that, they will be staying in town to play here at WCBE the next morning.

This Kent, Ohio based americana group is going to return to studio A to play before their show at Natalie's Coal Fired Pizza in Worthington the evening of July 12.

Their new release, " Silver Ribbon Dream~Songs And Stories Of The Ohio & Erie Canal", is available for purchase through their website.

It's actually a cd and a 28 page hardcover book. The 10 illustrations in the book visually interpret each of the 10 songs on the cd.

Gretchen Peters is coming to Central Ohio to perform at Natalie's Coal Fired Pizza in Worthington the evening of July 11th.

She also has a show coming up at Riverdog in Wakeman, Ohio the following night.

This two time grammy nominee has also picked up a Country Music Association song of the year award for her song "Independence  Day".

This Texas based singer/songwriter will be stopping by studio A to talk about her latest release, and play a few songs live, just a day after performing live on the program Mountain Stage with Larry Groce.

"Foxhole Prayers" was released late last year, and is available for purchase here.

Her first full length release, "Sparkler" came out back in 2003.


Dawn And Hawkes is Miranda Dawn and Chris Hawkes.

This duo from Austin Texas will be staying in Central Ohio after their show at Natalie's Coal Fired Pizza on June 18 to play in Studio A.

They also have a show coming up at Riverdog near Oberlin Ohio on June 20.

The last time they visited  WCBE  was back in 2014.

"The Other Side" is their latest release.

Over The Rhine is a collaboration between Linford Detweiler and Karin Bergquist.

They will be returning to Studio A to play a few songs and talk about their latest release, "Love & Revelation", which came out in March.

Currently on tour in support of that release, they will be stopping by WCBE between their shows in Lexington Kentucky and Kent Ohio.

It's been several years since they last played here at the station.

He is in Ohio to play shows at 31 West in Newark the evening of June 12, and the Springfield Arts Festival on June 13.

Since moving to Nashville to start his career in music back in 2003, he has come out with at least 10 releases.

The Brother Brothers, currently based in Brooklyn, are identical twins David and Adam Moss.

"Some People I Know", their full length debut, came out in October of last year.

They're going to be performing at the Nelsonville Music Festival this weekend.

This group is going to stop by studio A before their show at the Rumba Cafe the evening of May 16th, with Shiny Penny out of Indiana.

Now performing as a trio, this California based act also has shows in Minnesota and Illinois this week.

Run River North is Alex Hwang (guitar/vocals), Daniel Chae (guitar/vocals) and Sally Kang (keys/vocals).

She will be playing at Rambling House Soda the evening of May 15th.

Also coming up for her this week are shows in Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota.

Having been a winner of the Kerrville Folk Festival songwriting competition in 2009, and a fan favorite on the Voice back in season one, she is now touring in support of her new release, "Give Up Your Ghosts", which came out in February.

He will be stopping by studio A to perform before his show at The McConnell Arts Center the evening of May 10th.

Based in Texas, he is currently touring this part of the country with shows coming up in Michigan, Wisconsin and Iowa.

His latest release, "Land Of Doubt", is available for purchase through his website.

In addition to his career as a musician, he also does quite a bit of painting.

This Winnepeg based act is currently touring this part of the country, playing shows in Kentucky, Pennsylvania and The Central Ohio Folk Festival in Lewis Center, Ohio, which took place over the weekend.

The Small Glories is Cara Luft & JD Edwards.

They're getting ready to come out with a new release, “Assiniboine & the Red" on June 28.

Assiniboine is pronounced ‘uh-sin-uh-boin’.

This Central Ohio based act is coming out with a new release, "Boomerang", the same day as their visit to studio A.

The release show will be at Woodlands Tavern the evening of May 3rd.

Also performing at this event will be Jesse Henry & The High Definitions.

This West Virginia based singer/songwriter recently came out with two releases, recorded 32 years apart.

"Your Reflection Will Kill You" is the new one, recorded last year.

"1986 - The First Album" is the other one, recorded in 1986 but never released until now.

This Central Ohio based act will be stopping by studio A before their album release show at Rambling House the evening of April 26th, with Bow Echo opening.

"By The Window" is the name of their new one.

Touring extensively in April and May, he will be in town to play at Natalie's Coal Fired Pizza In Worthington  the evening of the 25th.

He will also be performing in Oberlin, Ohio on April 26.

Originally from Quebec, he has lived in many places, including Alaska, New Olreans and Paris.

Having shared stages with Muddy Waters, B. B. King, Dr. John, J. J. Cale and more, he has also been a guest on releases by Gurf Morlix, Ray Wylie Hubbard and others.

They're in town to play at Woodlands Tavern with Henhouse Prowlers the evening before their visit to WCBE.

This bluegrass based band from Peoria Illinois also incorporates elements of classic rock, jazz, classical, Hip-Hop and more into their performances.

They've played throughout the USA, Canada and the United Kingdom.

This Chicago based bluegrass act will be in town to play a show at Woodlands Tavern with The Way Down Wanderers out of Peoria Illinois the evening of April 18th.

The Way down Wanderers will stick around to perform live in studio A the following morning at 11am.

The Henhouse Prowlers have been making music for more than a decade, infusing musical styles from other parts of the world as well.

He will be stopping by to talk about his new release, "Practical".

The album release show will be at The Shrunken Head on April 12th, featuring  Jake Dunn & The Blackbirds, The Outside Voices and Joshua Powell.

WCBE is looking forward to the return of The Shazzbots to studio A.

Their new release, "Lightspeed" is coming out on Friday March 1, but you can pre-order it today through this link.

They also have a live show coming up on March 2nd at Big Fun, at 672 North High Street.

"Note To Self,  The Paragon Project Vol. 3",  will be coming out on February 23.

The album release event is scheduled for the evening of the 23rd, at the King Arts Complex.

The Paragon Project is a group of musicians, artists and poets who attend the Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center.

They're getting ready to release "Travelogue" on the 20th of April.

They also have a series of shows  shows coming up at Bleu & Fig from Feb 14- 17 called Valentine's Daze.

The early shows will be  performed as a trio, and evening shows will be with the full band.
