DeWine Proposes Delaying Ohio Primary In-Person Voting To June 2nd; Extending Absentee Voting

Saying he can't ask citizens to choose between protecting their health, and exercising their right to vote, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine is recommending that Ohio's primary election be extend through June 2nd.

Because only the legislature and the courts have the right to delay an election, a lawsuit will be filed in Franklin County today to ask the courts for a ruling.  Ohio Attorney General David Yost has been instructed not to contest the lawsuit.

Sectretary of State Frank LaRose admits suspending voting "is a serious matter".

DeWine is proposing moving the in-person voting day from March 17th to June 2nd.  And permitting people to file an absentee ballot between now and then.
