Former OU President Passes Away

Ohio University says former school president Vernon Alden died in Boston on Monday at the age of 97. 

An official cause of death has not been released. Alden served from 1962 to 1969. Alden also worked as chair of the Boston Company and its subsidiary, the Boston Safe Deposit and Trust Company, from 1969 to 1978. Alden was elected to the school's Hall of Fame in 2006.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
