A former Westerville and Columbus school teacher who faked cancer will not head to prison.
A judge Friday sentenced Christine Gill to 36 months of community control. She must also repay more than 57-thousand dollars after pleading guilty to theft and fraud charges. Prosecutors say she falsified medical documents claiming she was being treated for cancer and that her husband had died of the disease. Prosecutors say Gill lied in order to take paid time off.
