Husel Trial Delayed; Mt. Carmel Settles With Another Victim's Family

dailymail.co.uk

The now former Mount Carmel doctor accused of ordering fatal painkiller doses for dozens of patients won't face trial on murder charges until next year.

William Husel was scheduled for trial in June, but it was delayed by a ban on mass gatherings because of the coronavirus and related changes in court operations. A Franklin County judge has rescheduled the trial for May 10 of next year. Husel has pleaded not guilty. Meanwhile the health system has settled another wrongful death lawsuit with the family of a patient tied to the Husel scandal. Court documents show the family of Charles Longstreth will get 400 thousand dollars. The system has paid out more than 13 million so far.
