McIlroy, Scott, Finau Latest Memorial Commitments

The Memorial Tournament

Memorial Tournament officials have announced a few more early commitments to a field that already includes the game’s top ranked golfer.

Four-time major champion Rory McIlroy, former world No. 1 and 2013 Masters champ Adam Scott, and rising star Tony Finau will compete in the 44th edition of the Memorial Tournament. Other top golfers who previously announced intentions to play include World No. 1 Dustin Johnson, Westerville native Jason Day and defending Memorial winner Bryson DeChambeau. Golfers have until Friday May 24 to commit to the Memorial. Tournament officials also announced that Ohio State University Men’s Golf Team senior standout Will Grimmer has received an exemption to compete in the event. The 22-year-old qualified for last year’s U.S. Open. He received a communications degree on Sunday. Tournament play begins Thursday May 30, but several events take place Wednesday of that week. They include a Pro-Am tournament featuring former and current NFL players. Payton Manning plays for the 4th time, while Jason Taylor and Kyle Rudolph will be making their debuts. Also playing in the Wednesday pro-am for the first time – Indy Car Series star and Columbus native Graham Rahal and former Buckeye football coach Urban Meyer. More information from the Memorial Tournament can be found here.
