Politicos Weigh In On Rosenberger's Resignation

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Rich Cordray says it was "highly inappropriate" for Ohio Attorney General and GOP gubernatorial candidate Mike DeWine to call Republican Ohio House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger in the middle of a federal investigation and the exchange should be investigated.

Cordray says DeWine apparently used the call last Friday to advise Rosenberger on "how he should handle himself in that investigation." DeWine says he called Rosenberger and urged him to resign "out of concern" as a party leader. Republican State Auditor and AG candidate David Yost says Rosenberger should leave the Legislature immediately and not wait until May 1st.  Republican gubernatorial candidate Mary Taylor says Rosenberger's actions are part of the "good old boy network" at the Statehouse.  Taylor has been running as a non-establishment candidate, though she’s been in state government for more than a decade.
