Son Of MLK To Dedicate New Columbus Library Branch

wikipedia

Martin Luther King Junior's son will be in Columbus in October to cut the ribbon on the new MLK Library branch - nearly 50 years after his grandfather dedicated the current facility in 1969.

Columbus Metropolitan Library officials have announced Martin Luther King the Third will deliver the keynote address at the opening of the branch located at the corner of Long Street and Taylor Avenue.   The east side library was the first in the nation to be named for the slain civil rights leader, and is the only branch in the Columbus system named for an individual.

A native of Chicago, naturalized citizen of Cincinnati and resident of Columbus, Alison attended Earlham College and the Ohio State University. She has equal passion for Midwest history, hockey and Slavic poetry.
