Union Wants Dismissal Of Cop Who Killed Tamir Rice Overturned

nbcnews.com

The union representing the white Cleveland police officer who killed a 12-year-old black child in 2014 is asking an appeals court to overturn his dismissal.

A Cuyahoga County judge  in December upheld an arbitrator's decision that Timothy Loehmann should be fired for failing to disclose on his job application he'd been previously dismissed from the East Cleveland police department. Loehmann was cleared of criminal charges in the November 2014 death of Tamir Rice, who was shot while playing with a pellet gun outside a recreation center within seconds of a cruiser skidding to a stop near him.
