Westerville City Council Tuesday approved a resolution saying the city will officially allow refugees to resettle in the community.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine recently told President Trump the state would continue to accept refugees. Trump last year signed an order saying the federal government should resettle refugees in communities where the state and local governments have consented, and telling governments they must publicly declare if they’ll consent. Other communities that have taken this step include Columbus, Whitehall, Worthington and Franklin Township.
