Statewide Amber Alert issued for Columbus boy taken from Reeb Avenue home

Columbus Police say 5-year old Darnell Taylor was reported missing early Wednesday morning February 14, 2024 by his foster father. Foster mother Pammy Maye is suspected in his disappearance.

Columbus Police say 5-year old Darnell Taylor was reported missing early Wednesday morning February 14, 2024 by his foster father. Foster mother Pammy Maye is suspected in his disappearance.

A statewide Amber Alert has been issued for 5-year old Darnell Taylor, allegedly abducted by his foster mother and believed to be in danger.

Police say they received a call around 3 a.m. reported the boy's disappearance. The caller said his wife, 48-year old Pammy Maye awoken him and made statements that made him believe their foster son was hurt or in danger - then abruptly left their Reeb Avenue home. The family had fostered Darnell since May 2023.

Maye fled in a grey 2015 Jeep Cherokee, with Ohio license plate J-I-G-G-Z-I-I. That car was abandoned around 6 a.m. in Brooklyn, Ohio near Cleveland.

An Amber Alert was issued around 4 a.m. and Darnell's biological parents were notified. Columbus Police continue the investigation into his disappearance, searching the area around the home and examining door bell camera and area surveillance footage.

Darnell is described as black, with black hair and brown eyes, and may have been wearing Spider Man pajamas and white boots when he was taken.

Pammy Maye is described a black, 4 feet 9 inches tall, 115 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a green floral nightgown with pink shoes.
