The 38th annual Columbus Italian Festival takes place this weekend in Italian Village. Events begin this afternoon.
The festival features a bocce ball competition, a battle of the marching bands, and a heritage parade on Sunday. Streets around the festival will be closed and shuttle parking is available from Columbus State Community College. The festival began in 1980 at the Ohio State Fairgrounds and since 1999 has been held every Columbus Day weekend at a church on Hamlet Street.
