- The new data on overdose death rates in Ohio that showed an overall decrease of more than 22%, while in some counties (like Franklin county) the overdose death rate actually went up.
- The closing of the Youngstown Vindicator, with a special nod to healthcare beat reporter, Bill Alcorn. Dan gave a special shout out to reporter Jessica Hardin, whose article on ambulances in Mahoning Valley is not only an example of local healthcare journalism at its best, but a glimpse of what Ohio will miss in the Vindy’s absence.
