SUPCO Sets Date To Hear JobsOhio Challenge

The Republican-controlled Ohio Supreme Court has set a November 6th date to hear oral arguments over whether opponents of JobsOhio have the standing to sue. Lower courts so far have rejected the legal challenge to the private economic development entity created by Republican Governor John Kasich brought by the liberal policy group ProgressOhio and two Democratic state lawmakers. Courts have stopped short of ruling on the constitutionality of the agency, saying the parties cannot show harm and do not have standing to sue.
