Gun Rights Supporters Lobby Lawmakers For Silencers

Gun rights advocates supporting a plan to let Ohio hunters use silencers have given 20 state lawmakers or their aides a first-person look at the devices. The Buckeye Firearms Association hosted a tour Monday of  a shooting range in Delaware while lobbying for the pending legislation. Backers say silencers protect the hearing of hunters, make field commands easier to hear and reduce disruptions. Opponents say quieter weapons are less safe and easier to use illegally.
