Jackets Trade Nikitin For 5th Round Draft Pick

The Columbus Blue Jackets have traded defenseman Nikita Nikitin to the Edmonton Oilers for a fifth-round pick in next year's draft. The deal means Columbus has re-acquired the 2014 draft pick it sent to Edmonton for defenseman Nick Schultz in March. The 28-year-old Nikitin registered 12 goals and 44 assists for 56 points in 158 games as a Blue Jacket. He was acquired in a trade with St. Louis in 2011.
