Resolution Seeks End Of Chief Wahoo, "Indians" Team Nickname

Democratic state senator Eric Kearney is sponsoring a legislative resolution encouraging the Cleveland Indians to drop their nickname and Chief Wahoo mascot. Kearney says they are racially insensitive. Breaking from a team policy of not commenting on Chief Wahoo, team president Mark Shapiro says the logo represents the team's heritage and will remain in place. Kearney was dropped from the Democratic gubernatorial ticket amid problems with his taxes.
