Democrat James Ragland will appear on the May primary ballot for Columbus Mayor. The Franklin County Board of Elections has agreed to allow him to appear if 25 hundred of his petition signatures are valid. Ragland, a former Columbus City Council aide, had been told he would not appear because of a problem with his nominating petitions. The issue involved a non-Columbus resident who is part of Ragland's nominating committee. Columbus City Council President Andy Ginther and Franklin County Sheriff Zach Scott are also running on the Democratic side. Former Columbus School Board member Terry Boyd is running on the Republican side.
