The Central Ohio Transit Authority plans to ask voters in November of next year to renew the temporary quarter percent sales tax levy they approved in 2006. The agency's board of trustees said this morning the tax levy expires in March of 2017. That levy, along with a permanent quarter percent levy approved in 1999, makes up the majority of COTA's budget. Trustees say if the renewal fails, 500 thousand service hours will be cut.
