Man Convicted In Tuscarawas County Couple's Slaying Gets 50 Years In Prison

Ohio Attorney General's Office

One of the men convicted in the kidnapping and slaying of an elderly Tuscarawas County couple has been sentenced to 50 years to life in prison. 22-year-old Jeffery Stewart was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to multiple charges. Prosecutors say Stewart and Robert Clark kidnapped and killed 88-year-old Doyle Chumney and his 79-year-old wife Lillian in January 2015. Their bodies were found in a burned out car in Coschocton County. Clark is serving a life prison sentence.
