Marion Man Pleads Guilty To Posing As State Senator During High School Visit

Wyandot County Sheriff's Office

A Marion man charged with touring a Toledo high school while posing as a state senator has pleaded guilty to impersonating a peace officer. Sentencing is pending for 18-year-old Izaha Akins, who spoke to a government class at Mohawk High School last December posing as Republican State Senator David Burke. School officials didn't realize they'd been duped until  Burke showed up weeks later for a scheduled appearance. Akins said he was making a point about school security.
