Bill Capping Film Tax Credit Signed Into Law

daytondailynews.com

Ohio Governor John Kasich has signed into law a bill increasing the cap on the state's motion picture tax credit at 40 million dollars per project each year. Film commissions in cities like Columbus and Cleveland say the previous cap was 5 million dollars per project, which attracted some move makers, but not enough to compete with other states. Critics say Hollywood is rolling in cash and the tax credit is unnecessary.
