The Ohio Supreme Court has ruled the Springfield City Schools must release student contact information requested by the School Choice organization as long as parents give their consent. The justices say neither federal nor state law restricts release of the directory information for the 2013-2014 school year. A public records request by the organization in the 2013-2014 school year sought student and parent names, parent addresses and email addresses, parent telephone numbers and student grade levels. The district provided names and addresses, saying the remaining data wasn't subject to release.
