A federal district judge yesterday extended a restraining order blocking an Ohio law diverting public money from Planned Parenthood. The temporary restraining order that was to expire on Friday will now end on August 12. The law targets mostly federal money the organization gets through the Ohio Department of Health to support HIV testing, cancer screenings and other preventative services. Planned Parenthood says the law passed by conservative Republicans violates the organization's constitutional rights by denying the funds "in retaliation for" providing abortions.
