No Injuries Out Of Four-Alarm Fire At South Columbus Recycling Facility

Columbus fire officials are searching for the cause of a four-alarm blaze at a south side recycling facility that broke out Friday afternoon. Fire crews are spending the night battling the blaze at the WestRock Recycling center in the one thousand block of Marion Road, dousing hot spots, and searching for a cause. No injuries are reported, but fire officials urged people to stay indoors and turn off air-conditioners to protect themselves against heavy smoke in the area.  An estimated 3 to 4 acres of recyclable materials burned, according to fire officials. In May of last year, a massive fire at a recycling center in the six hundred block of Marion Road caused 8 million dollars in damages.
