Waters Weighing Legal Options After Judge Tosses Civil Rights Lawsuit

Ohio State University's fired marching band director says after watching courts toss both his lawsuits seeking relief he now sees "for some injustices, there are just no legal remedies." A federal judge Friday dismissed Waters' civil rights lawsuit that alleges reverse discrimination. Waters was fired in July 2014 for ignoring a "sexualized culture" inside the band. He denied wrongdoing and filed the lawsuit seeking reinstatement and damages. A second defamation suit filed in state court was dismissed last month. Waters said he'll weigh his legal options, but the decision will likely end his two-year legal battle. His attorneys say Waters' funds are exhausted. Waters said the suits sought to restore his and the band's reputations after a damaging report he calls flawed.
