CCS Amends Win-Win Agreement With Three School Districts

The Columbus Board of Education last night approved a measure allowing the Hilliard, Westerville and South-Western City Schools to phase out their participation in the 30-year-old 'Win-Win' agreement. Those districts paid Columbus City Schools more than 2.8 million dollars a year for their participation. But the deal approved last night got no money for the Columbus district, even though Superintendent Dan Good was allowed to negotiate a deal in exchange for compensation. The new agreement allows payments to be phased out through 2022, meaning the district will get about half of what it would have if no deal were reached. The district is asking voters this fall to approve an operating levy.
