Central Ohio's unemployment rate for July is 4 percent, down two-tenths of a point from June. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services credits the decrease to more summer jobs being filled. The department says 67 of Ohio's 88 counties had unemployment decreases last month, while the rate increased in eight other counties. Delaware County had the region's lowest jobless rate at 3.4 percent. Franklin County's unemployment rate was 4 percent, and Columbus' rate was 4.1 percent.
