East Liverpool Woman Sentenced To Jail For Voter Fraud

An East Liverpool woman was sentenced today to jail time for voter fraud.

34-year old Rebecca Hammonds was sentenced to 180 days in jail for fraudulently registering 36 people to vote.  Hammonds pleaded guilty in January to 13 counts of false registration and one felony count of election falsification.  The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation found Hammonds created false registration documents while working to register unregistered voters in Columbiana County in September and October, 2015.  The Columbiana County Board of Elections first discovered the faked records, after finding that several of the newly registered voters were dead.
