A convicted identity thief has described how he received the Social Security numbers of more than two thousand state prison inmates. 43-year-old Lonny Bristow says he got the numbers after asking for a list of Chillicothe Correctional Institution inmates through a public-records request. Bristow, who is out of prison, says he destroyed the information after notifying state and federal authorities. State prisons spokesperson JoEllen Smith says the agency is looking into identity theft monitoring services for the affected inmates.
